I've just finished a pinup featuring Borf and Kimberly from an old school arcade game by Don Bluth called Space Ace. When I was super young, it was the most beautiful game in existence. And let's face it, it still looks impossibly cool. If you don't know about it - you should look it up.
LASER DISC GAMES! Waaaaaaah!
Anyways, prints will be up at the LTD gallery and I'll post the finished pieces after the show opens tonight.
Opens August 29th - 7pm-11pm
It's right next to PAX - on Pike street. 307 E. Pike street.
Be there or be square.
Here's a sketch for you.
I know, not nearly enough rainbows or vomit, right? But at least there are some panties. WOOT.

The banner and some pics of Emerald City Comic Con
This is how the banner came out. Figured some peeps might want to see it undistorted and clean like.
It came out rad. Props to the printers.

Bubble Bobble / Puzzle Bobble Neon Sign art
![]() |
| Pacman, Hamburgers and Shakes, Bubble Bobble, arcades - I tried a bit of everything. |
I designed a neon sign. Here's how I started.
I built a bunch of sketches around the concept. I used a bunch of classic arcade/Diner bits and tried to incorporate what he wanted in simple thick elegant line work so the bender wouldn't have a helluva time.
So the guy I was designing for, he liked on in particular, so I turned it into a slightly cleaner sketch, which you can see here. He loves Bubble Bobble / Puzzle Bobble.
![]() |
| Bob and Bub pictured, because they're awesome and they provided a great color palette |
I wanted the thing to look nice and thick/dense with 15mm glass at the size it was to be manufactured.
The sign didn't have that in stock though and we had to go with 13mm.
We picked the sign up the other day and I snapped a few photos of it. It came out really nice. In person you can see the colors and they're a bit nicer, but in the iPhone photos, the bloom is a bit impossible to photograph.
Here are my favorite pictures.
![]() |
| A closeup of the neon so you can see all the connective bits. |
![]() |
| Obligatory depth of field shot and the colors are pretty close in this one although it's still quite blown out. |

Moar Sketch
Here's another take on the cosplay concept. It's a sort of mashup of a bunch of refs into one little package. And for the nerd impared out there (which can't be many because, well, you're reading an digital art blog) I've listed all of the things I'd like to paint into it.
Luigi, Chun Li, Samus, Pokemon, Cammie, Lara Croft, Zelda - I'm pretty much ripping it all.
I guess you could kind of say like a DJ would do with music, I'd like to do with these characters.
Commence the music.

Hopefully I'll find time, of which there is little presently, to fill out the rest of the piece.
As always, your comments are welcome and very much appreciated.
be seeing you,
&Rew.

Cosplay "Pin-up" - Rainbow Dash? Bravest Warriors Beth? Samus? Wat!
So I have this dream of mine...
I want to make a giant pinup banner to hang when I do the next Seattle Comic Con next year.
When I say giant, I mean, really quite large... like, taller than my house large. Like... 30 feet tall giant.
Chances of this happening are slim but just like I always say "You make don't of the shots that you don't take."
So I'm planning for this.
The sketch has to be really tall because it can't be wide - booths aren't that wide, so I probably have ~5-10' to work with and the thinner and taller the better. It can't be too lude, so I'll be somewhat tame.
What I'm thinking is that it'll look like a giant version of one of my cartoon girls standing right in the con. Should be really cool to take pictures of.
Here are some sketches.
Rainbow Dash, Samus, Samus Cosplaying as Chun Li, Samus as Sailor Moon. Then I did some other randoms - Velma, Beth from Bravest Warriors both regular style and as Slave Leia from the Butter Lettuce episode.
I'm not in love with any of these, although I like Samus as Sailor Moon and also Rainbow Dash is kinda too cool for School.
Do let me know if any of these tickle your fancy, or any other part of your mind or body.
cheers,
&Rew.

The rest of the Boo'd Puns
Here are all the rest of the Boo pics except the super secret one, who's name shall not be mentioned.
The series did really well at the show and I'm super proud of how the sets are packaged. You won't be disappointed if you pick them up.
As a matter of fact - you do that here (link below to the LTD art gallery) for $20.

Bottleneck Gallery's 3nes show pieces, Mario, Zelda, and Metroid stacking dolls
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I DRAW THESE FOOLS FROM OLDSCHOOL NINTENDO?
I make pieces like this all the time.
I try to do it a little differently each time. You know, grow a bit? Well here are a set of prints available at Bottleneck.
http://www.bottleneckgallery.com/collections/3nes/products/andrew-fourthwish-dolls-set
Also, several news sites have been re-posting my work, which is awesome! But my last name is Wilson, not Fourthwish. Although that would be really cool, I have to interject. Thanks for the coverage.
I love me some Matryoshka dolls. It's been suggested that I should actually make these. MAYBE I WILL! I'll show you!
(probably, I won't...)

Series Boo prints, another round of puns.
Another set of the Series Boo prints:
Get em while they're hot.
http://www.ltdartgallery.com/product/boo-who-series-by-andrew-wilson-blind-pack
Alternatively, if you're a new fan of my work, some older piece can be purchased at that same gallery here:
http://www.ltdartgallery.com/products?search=andrew+wilson&search-submit=
These are a few of my favorites, although I'm saving the best for last.
And if you haven't read back through my blog, I don't want to be one of those rip-off artists. It bears mentioning that these are all based on fairly obvious popular characters. They're pun combinations of Boo from Mario Bros. In SMB he was originally called Boo Didley (a nice pun) by the way. Well, I saw Mike Mitchell's Super Series and love the silhouette concept and wanted to add my spin by doing silly pun combinations.
Also, I appreciate kind words, so don't be scurred to say that at me in the comments. This blog has been a ghost town lately!
Have a nice day.

Boo Who? Where to find the pritns and a couple of the drawings.
So the sets are super cheap! I'm practically giving these away here:
http://www.ltdartgallery.com/product/boo-who-series-by-andrew-wilson-blind-pack
They'll cost you $20. You'll get three random ones. The packaging is really nice too! They're in a little boarded slipcover with a sticker on the back and a cover sheet so you can't sneak a peak at what's inside. I've signed all of them. It was quite a bit of signing.

| Metryoshka Dolls, if you will |
Metroid inspired artwork for an upcoming show at the Bottleneck Gallery. We've got lil zero suit Samus, the power suit, and the Metroid ship - IDK what she's claled.
I also tacked super mario brothers and zelda as a set of stacking dolls. I'll post them up once the show goes live or the gallery pops the pics up with links to purchase if you're interested.

Boo! It's that time of the year again.
There's an upcoming art show. If you're in the Seattle area or going to PAX, you kinda need to go to this
Aug 30th
7pm
307 E Pike S t
At the LTD art gallery just blocks from where PAX is being held.
It's a video game art show and I illustrated my second set of bad puns. Series Boo. They're all based on the ghost character from Super Mario Brothers. SMB has the best characters and Boo Didley (as he was originally called) is a really nice base for variation in the Super Mario Bros. world. A nice round shape with a pink tongue and little flippers. What's not to love?
Here are the 'base models' for the illustrations I did. I'll be posting them throughout the next 10 days every once in a while, which is way WAY more frequently than I've been posting for some time.
Prepare yourself for another season of bad puns. You've been warned.

MegaMan Legends Bon Bonne art
Bon Bonne is a rad design. I wanted to do the whole Bonne family but other artists snagged the other bits ya know. I wanted to capitalize on the simplicity of his shapes and an interesting silhouette. He's like a big baby, which is great.
Reblog the post on my tumblr:

Or you can peep it on the site where MegaMan boss battles lives.

Some limited prints will be up eventually should there be enough interest.

Double Dragon Neon cheats and WTF is Linda wearing?
Ok, so if you haven't tried double dragon neon - it's f_cking awesome.
I played through the whole thing with my GF last night. It only took a couple of hours. (In my opinion, that's good). 10 bucks for a few hours of XBLA or PS3 game play is great. Short, sweet, to the point. But you can replay that game to unlock stuff if you want.
I discovered several cheats while we played last night. I wanted to share them with the world as well as my sketch of one of the common enemies: Linda. She's a dominatrix. She's hillariously tasteless. It's pretty rad.
This is my version of the Double Dragon Neon Linda.
Ok, "cheats" or secrets for the game.
When you're in the map you can hold down L1 L2 L3 R1 R2 R2 select and start. If you hit them all, then you'll hear a robotic crash sound and then you can play the game as a f_cking ROBOT. You may have to beat the game first on normal. I'm not sure, but I think you can just do that. Basically hit all your L, R buttons + select and start.
Secondly, when you in the lab level with the punching bag - hit the punching bag 87 times. This is an homage to 1987. If you don't get it, then you never will. If you do that - exactly 87 times. You'll hear a SFX and then you can play through an extra part of the game with weird art. It's cool.
Thirdly - In the countryside (or maybe the level after that) you will see two gravestones close to each other. Before you bust them up - duck 7 times inbetween them and you'll unlock a weird thing. I can't explain it. It's weird. But the thing helped out. I'm not saying any more about that.
I think that's all I found. But I also recommend when you play leveling up your training wheels and keeping those on through the first playthrough - it will make things seriously easier. Farm the level 2 boss and spend your upgrade points/cash on that or balance and you'll be straight for the first few play-throughs.
That's all I got for now.
bad ass.

Princess Peach (Birth of Venus) painting is done and prints are up.
The art show was AWESOME. Thank you to all the artists who participated. So many awesome video game pieces.
Here's the finish on my Princess Peach Birth of Venus Botticelli rip.
It's Peach popping out of a 3Ds, the original I sold at the show has a transparent layer with some clothing draped over the figures so it's more safe for work. (^__^) I really really like how it came out. Email me if you took pics, because I was a dolt and did not do such.

Dr. Daisyo (who the hell is Dr. Mario?) figure
Turn your head and cough.
I made a thing!
Actually, Nate at Squid Kids Ink made a thing.
He asked me to do a mini figure for his 10-doh! (read like ninTendo!) a while back and I don't think I ever posted it.
At any rate, ever since I did it, there have been a few emails from strangers here and there saying that they found my art when they saw that toy and googled the artist. That's pretty bad ass.
As you can see, I based my art on the oldschool Dr. Mario cart from the nes. Oldschool nintendo is the sh_t. I totally ripped the design, but not in a steal it steal it sort of way, but in homage, because I loved the hell out of that thing. So this should be completely familiar in every way.
At any rate, if you like this you can find the figures in various spots. You can buy cases from Squid Kids Ink's big cartel site, and I've seen Daisyo figures in various places online. Probably it's best to ask you favorite toy store to buy a case, so you can support the dude who molded this - Nate at Squid Kids.

Moo mini cards: Final Fight arcade/snes
Not sure how many of you remember this game, but it's awesome. I've never paid tribute to it, so it's long overdue, but Final Fight was a genre defining game at the time (well that or double dragon), but I think people still may refer to games like this as "Final Fight" style. Or maybe Streets of Rage, but who's counting.
Still rad.
¿Can you tell that he's based on Jesse Ventura? Cause I think he was totally supposed to be. A cross between him and Zangief really. Super dope. He's made cameos in lots of stuff since as has poison. There's some weird history about her, but I'll let you find out that stuff for yourself. (O . O)
These mini art bits are so fun to do, I think all of you artists should take a stab. SRSLY.

Nes Contra is the sh_t. If you say otherwise, why don't you come over to hang out with me SO I CAN BREAK YOUR ARM OUT OF IT WIMPY SOCKET AND BEAT OFF YOUR FACE WITH IT.
All that oldschool nintendo cart awesomeness is so fondly remembered for a reason. I've read all the naysayers talking about how it's nostalgia holding it together, but they can go suck a CD, because those carts are the stuff of legends. Yah, I'm looking at you hate blogger, with my spread pointed simultaneously at your terrible articles and your ugly mug simultaneously, cause that's how we do with spread.
I'm getting the hand of the moo card drawings maybe, but maybe these first few will suck by time I get a little further down the road.
