PacMan Nipples.

I made a picture.  This is one illo of two pieces that I did for a buddy.  This is the weaker of the two although it's not without interesting bits.

Yeah, she totally has pacman nipples.

¿Is PacMan one word or two?

The most awesome thing about this post is that if people google "PacMan nipples" there's a good chance that they'll find THIS POST.

If you're here because of PacMan nipples - you sick f_ck... WELCOME.  Enjoy.

Great.  I'm doing my part to ruin the galaxy from within.

Another scribble and some more music

Sometimes a scribble is the best we can do in life.
I scribbled some digital ink on some digital paper again and this happened.

As once long ago, I promised to do another Art Director for a day - lemme break it down for you again.  So the little characters on 3D bases seems to be getting allot of interest.  That's good because I absolutely LOVE making them.  It's comments/twitter time.  Drop me a comment about who you'd like to see face off on the 3D cubes.

I'll pick some characters from comments or tweets sometimes next week and start on it.  Is it going to be Princess Daphne and Dirk?  Is it going to be Princess Bubblegum and the Ice King?  Is it going to be the a ninja Turtle vs. Shredder? Or are you going to recommend something totally awesome and different?

I'm artist_andrew on twitter.  https://twitter.com/#!/artist_andrew

Also, here's music.  It's allot more light hearted and video gamey.   Sorry you can't listen to this on mobile, I think it's a flash player.

It's been a long time, I shouldn't have left you...

Without a dope beat to step to.

I haven't done any silhouette paintings in a while, but I was "inspired"/tricked by an email from a fake shirt mfg/art director and did some artwork last week.  He evaporated as was expected, so I'mma post this up.

Kinda glad the dude bugged me or I wouldn't have gotten back into it for a little while.  That's lemonade from lemons, right?

When life gives you art director lemons, make art lemonade.
And it's been some time since I've thrown up any tracks for you to listen to.  "Thrown up" heh.  Yeeeeaaaaaarrrrrgggggh.

It's fakebit dubstep.  Sounds real good if you like 8bit music. And me? I dig it.

Enjoy the art. Enjoy the music.  Enjoy the weekend.  Don't let fake art directors into your pants.

Back in black silhouette

It seems like every time I do a new one of these I've got to apologize for being rusty. Truth is that I've been avoiding certain art pieces with other art pieces. Such is the case, all the pin ups on this blog as of late has been in the way of doing more silhouettes which I really missed doing. So I rocked out one of these last night.

And ya, I'm rusty as hell.
edit: i forgot to mention that this piece was heavily inspired by han solo trapped in carbonite. Can't you tell?

I may as well post the tracks that inspired it.

Both Glitch mob tracks:

Enjoy the music and the art.

¿Automated Posts?

This one is a little chaotic. I haven't posted too many silhouettes lately, so I figured I should get on that.

I'm also trying to drop this in the future, as it's wednessday morning right now, but I'm headed out of town in a moment. I will probably miss my plane because of this... so... THANKS ALLOT. Hehe Just kidding, but seriously.

¿At any rate, we'll see if this blogger can do it's job and deliver on time, shall we?

And to the image...

6:54 am is a good time to post, isn't it?

cheers,

sometimes you have to stay up a little later...

...and paint a little harder.

music + photoshop + sexy women =
Haven't done anything like this in some time. It's a little wonky, but please don't hold that against me.

on and off and on and off again

I like to bounce back between the heavily rendered stuff and the flat silhouettes. It's a nice balance. It's tiring painting in all the cast shadows, highlights, surface materials etc, so I think it helps to do exactly the opposite for a while.

That's when you know it's time to put on a good track and sketch one of these:

The track is called Fake Blood :: Medieval and it's kinda hot, if you're speakers/headphones are.

The fadeout kinda sucks, so here's a track to make up for it.

Deadmau5 and Wolfgang Gartner :: Animal Rights (Houserocka Bootleg)

now to see if I can get this mother onto FakeBook.

sink your claws in

This song is a couple years old and a couple years rad. barbara morgenstern is a german electro-pop musician who is very liberal in her music. it's obvious that she's making tracks that she feels passion in making and she doesn't really give a fuck what you or i think. that's good, that way the art is pure. you know?

her live music is so dope.

i want to paint while she plays music and just really tear some sh_t up. it's the kind of music that makes me want to break glass with my art. that's the best way I can put it. and it's not really that high octane, it's just the spirit.

if you want the full experience you'll have to paint to one of her albums drunk off scotch. if you come and find me, i'll pour you the glass and you can pick out the album.

Eric Marechal strikes back

I hope I've spelled your name right this time friend!

Eric is the photographer and street artist behind
UrbanHearts.

He's pasted up some more pieces that I'd sent him. I believe in Sao Paolo along side some other cool artists like Lena, Mutartis, and Tony.Make sure to check out his site with plenty of free time because it has TONS of cool stuff on it. He's in it for the love of the game and that's a worthy cause.

Thanks for the work Eric and if you guys ever see my art or any of Eric's stuff up - 'holla back' and be sure to stop for a moment and appreciate it. It's entertainment not vandalism! (^__^)

cheers and thanks for stopping by,

A break from That for some of This:

This is a piece I just finished. I have prints of it but no real motivation to put them up and into a store. Can you tell which pop culture ref this is from? It's pretty obvious yet nobody noticed when I had the print out.

Eric Marachal strikes again. He's been so gracious to paste me up again. Thanks Eric - you're helping art spread like a virus.

And here's a pic I've been meaning to post for a while, it's Doug Artus's racecar. If you see him racing it A. cheer for him if he's in a race. B. Don't tell the cops if it's a heist.

That's how we roll.

2 things.

Thing 1.
For anonymous, here are the posters that I sell in no particular order. Thanks for picking them up BTW, you're helping support my habbit of making them.

Thing 2.
I've been away from my blog (this time) because I'm working on a new book. I'm working on it damn hard too. Every frickin day. Every single frickin day. And, you see, this is going to be the most work I've ever put into anything ever before - easily. I think it's about 5 years of practice and work. So if you like this blog but hate the internet, I'm going to have just the thing for you. Scout's honor.

In the meanwhile I'm working on the tron piece when I have free seconds.

To summarize the recent A.D. - looking good BUT perspective not so good. I'll put up a post soooooonish. Don't believe me? Neither do I. (^___^)

and now for a remix of something totally similar.

"-" asked for a wallpaper version of an old drawing.

i looked at it and thought, I think I can make that different and maybe it will look a little bit cooler. Since I think I'm a little better than I was when I first made it. I tried to improve. Hopefully I didn't lose the "soul" to the piece.

no more blah blah. more draw draw. so here's the remake. If you click it, it should be wallpaper size. if not, yell at me till I fix it.

werd?

oh ya - here's the old one for reference, but it's not as large as the other.

Eric Marechel strikes again just in time for the new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR...FELIZ ANO NUEVO...BONNE ANNEE

Eric Marechel is most awesome. He shares art to the world like others share smiles. Quick, almost effortlessly, this dude is an art ninja.

He goes around the world and wheat pastes art up on walls and posts and bins and frames - adding his touch to the urban landscape. His art is photography and viral placement of other artists' work.

My flickr currently consists of his and my work in several countries. Check it out at:

Flickr's of Eric's stuff

Today he sent me new pics of my work next to Celso Gitahny, John Howard, and Andy.

Here are a few of my favorite ones:

How the poster turned out.

If you're interested, it's selling at gallery 1988
http://www.nineteeneightyeight.com/
415) 409-1376
If you're NOT interested, it's cool - just enjoy the pics.

This is how the final came out:

24x24 mounted to canvas.
"mixed as f_ck media"
It's called Where are the Wild Things? - or something like that...

Here was one of my last posts on the subject with a few more progress shots:

I'm posting another shot of the poster.

Here's a bunch of in progress pics with varying degrees of "doneness". Werd?
I took pages from Maurice Sendak's children's book "Where the Wild Things Are" and I pasted them around and in the image, so it's a collage of my stuff and Maurice's stuff. I hope he doesn't mind, but it's the only thing I could think of when I got the Wild Things poster assignment.

here's a pic of it drying before I put some more touches, pack it, and ship it up to SF. I tried to jam this piece with a bunch of little stuff to look at. Maybe some of you internet peeps will get a chance to see it in person? If not, I'll try to get a decent photo up at some point. iPhone just isn't cutting it.

I hope some of your viewers dug the process. This piece was really fun to make, plus i love wildthings AND denise richards. allot. good combo - it's very Cookies and Cream, except less calories. Calories, at this point in my life, are something I DO NOT NEED.

F-ck it, I'm out. I've gotta go to the fridge and point a pint of cookies and cream. This post made me hungry.

cheers.

¿werD?

some people informed me that this image is straight up dirty, and that it made them feel like bad people for looking at it.

good. just wait till I "throw up" my next piece.

next week I'm going to bring back post-it pets.

damn straight.

let's see if I've still got any juice left in me.

comic con is rad.

2 things:

Thing 1. Comic con is rad. I've met a ton of cool peeps. I even met demetri martin after the show on some side street.

Thing 2. I made more art because it's been a while since I did. I moved and hadn't set my computers up completely. I'm still shit for a set up - the keyboard scrapes my leg and the wacom is in a totally f_cked spot. I did manage to throw a few lines though. so i sat up for a good majority of the evening working this out while my buzz from all those white russians went away.

if you stopped by isle 1000 (H3) and said hi - and then checked the blog - i really aprpeciate you stopping by. Now go send that postcard I gave you to an art lover you know, and draw something sick (or really good) on the back of it (i think you know what i mean).

thing 3.
