I started doing ad4ad contests to try to connect with people and create art in a more community sense. i'm not a member of facebook or deviant (as of yet)or any major web communities so it's like this blog is a little hub for me to connect to peeps. That's also another reason I love doing the postcards.

Half of art is its creation and the rest of it is sharing it with people.

So thanks to you guys and girls who are participating. I'm really happy to let you guys be a part of the art process. It's way more fun when you get involved.

Here's another sketch of the pirate girl i posted a ways back. I changed her hair and tweaked a couple of her bits.

Also, I made this shirt. It's a gummo shirt. Gummo is a movie that's pretty hard to watch but it also pretty fun to watch. It's cultish and it's got some akward moments before that stuff was completely mainstream. Things I like about gummo inclue - the nipple tape scene, the rabbit vs. cowboy scene, and the char wrestling scene (although that might be from another movie but probably isn't). The rabbit boy and the movie gummo might not be for you, but it's definitely worth a netflix, yo.
It's based on a screen grab from the movie gummo. I think it's arted enough for me to call it mine.!

Hurray rabbit boy.

Art Director for a Day: Halloween Edition

To everybody who emailed me for a postcard, they've been sent out (on Saturday) so that should be all good shortly. Also - posters and books have been shipped, although there are still a few books and a poster that will go in the mail Thursday.

Now for something interesting, AD4AD3.0: I love postcards. I also LOVE Halloween

Email me or leave a comment in the comment box with your idea for a set of Halloween postcards. Please use a subject like of "Halloween Postcard Idea" I will be doing 2 that will link up next to each other (like the kill bill cards). On one card I'd like you to come up with a really cute/sexy girl and a scary monster for the other one. I'm also going to do a stamp for the occasion so make sure to include that in your thought process.

For example:
Frankenstein chasing after his bride with a creepy spider in his hands and the stamp would be a little spider staring out at you.

Or a girl dressed up as wonder woman with a paper bag, and on the other cards Dracula opening up his front door. The stamp could be a jackolantern or something.

All entries will get a set of cards w/ artsy stamps. The ideas that wins plus a couple runner-ups something else like a signed print or a book with some candy.

And here's some art I did a while back when I was trapped in a room for a weekend... I never had a chance to post it until now. There are a few more, but they're as of yet unfinished.

Dejah in all her splendor plus free postcards today!

The poster is done and printed and in my hands! That's allot of "ands". I also made postcards. What does that mean?

A. I'm putting posters for sale. There are only 8 left of a run of 10 and I won't be printing anymore likely. They can be signed numbered and sent to you for the low low prices of $50.00. The posters are on really nice paper and are 18x24 so you can frame them easily. I gotta pay for these projects somehow, right?

B. I made POSTCARDS! Yay. Anybody who emails me their name and address by 10pm PST tonight will be getting one in the mail soon for free. I don't think I'll have time to do drawing on them, but I'll scribble something.

C. AD4AD3 (art director for a day) is upon us soon. Check back in the next few days and I'm going to start up the next contest. This one is going to be the best one ever. I have a really really good idea (that you're gonna help me come up with).
