Eric Marechel strikes again just in time for the new year.

HAPPY NEW YEAR...FELIZ ANO NUEVO...BONNE ANNEE

Eric Marechel is most awesome. He shares art to the world like others share smiles. Quick, almost effortlessly, this dude is an art ninja.

He goes around the world and wheat pastes art up on walls and posts and bins and frames - adding his touch to the urban landscape. His art is photography and viral placement of other artists' work.

My flickr currently consists of his and my work in several countries. Check it out at:

Flickr's of Eric's stuff

Today he sent me new pics of my work next to Celso Gitahny, John Howard, and Andy.

Here are a few of my favorite ones:

Happy Mother #@$%ing Christmas and a Merry New Year.

evil lyn of heman fame

she-ra of heman spinoff fame (ya - she is hugging that blade rather tight)

Ok.

2009 is almost kaput.

Here are some more sketches. At this point - the paintings are done, but I need to tweak the scans and make sure they're pretty and whatnot.

New years resolution involves making some giant color paintings. Note that I don't do traditional color painting yet, so giant is probably a bad idea, but that's what I'm gonna do.

Feel free to post your resolution and then feel like an idiot when somebody calls you out at the end of 2010. "Hey, you didn't do (blank) like you's said you's was gonna do." "Ya bub, thanks for that."

What does GIANT PAINTING mean? IDK. Let's say that since most of my stuff is 6"x8" - a giant painting will be more than 3 ft. Does that sound good? So that means by 2011 I'd better have produced something at least 3'x1". Feel free to call me out on it, but I don't think you'll have to.

Orko and ramMan

Okok. i really like ramMan. I didn't like the toy. His legs were all locked up in tubelike form. He couldn't bend em at all. And the recoil spring did what? it lifted him like 3cm off the ground.

Good idea though however poorly executed. I always like his design when I was a kid but couldn't get past the tubeleg thing. Now that I spent a little while drawing him, I have a renewed fondness. I hope that he looks "me" enough. I want to take these heman mother fuckers and twist them into my universe without making them unrecognizable in the slightest. fun challenge.

be seeing you,
&rew.

brained.

Stress related memory loss is real people.

I'm suffering from it now. It just so happens that all the art has been for work lately, which is cool, but unpostable. ( >__< ) I've been working ~13 hour days. It's painful but I keep hoping that if I do it and do it well, I'll get good at art.

It's working slowly, but I'm totally dropping the ball in many many courts. I guess that's why nerds suck at communicating because doing that takes time away from their nerdy projects.

Here's a nerdy project of mine: I'm doing a bunch of heman paintings, and if I'm lucky, a heman shirt. It's 50/50 right now so cross your fingers and I'll cross mine too.

I love heman. Mostly cause my parents didn't let me play with them as a child, so I'd sneak over to a friend's house to do it. I actually hated the kid but he had so many toys that it worked out. He was generally a bully. At any rate, if you read this Dusty or his brother Corey, sorry... (i haven't talked to them in a dozen + years so I should be safe)

i hope you dig the sketches. i'll try to find time to prodce stuff i can blog, but chances are that stress will make me forget my name and password.
