thank you for the interest and also, i am working on a book as we speak! i will post details when i have them.
i would like to say that these creatures crawl out of my head and in to the monitor. ^___^
i always use photoshop for them - to be more specific - i start with the silhouette and then start carving in where the light touches the surfaces with usually a hard edged pressure sensative brush. If the silhouette is good and the hilights are good - the piece will have shape - i know that much.
i usually try cute shapes, which to me means obvious simple shapes and bright saturated colors.
... but that's only if you don't believe they crawl out of imagination! i hope that helps.

you're drawings are great! really nice blog
Yeah, great work. You should publish a book, especially of all the pets.
How do you render the pets? 3D, Photoshop, etc.? It's cool if you don't want to give away your secrets...
it's no secret how i make these!
